Castello di Uglione is how the estate is called. It was part of a set of watchtowers south of Florence built between the 10th and 13th centuries and during the dispute between the Guelphs and Ghibellines, to militarily control the hills from above.
The fortress includes a lower building, the villa of four hundred square meters, the tower, plus an annex dedicated to well-being all for a total of approximately seven hundred square meters surrounded by one hectare of greenery and an olive grove.
Mentioned by Dante’s Divine Comedy in the sixteenth canto of Paradise, referred to the “villan d’Aguglion”, a controversial character on the Florentine medieval public scene, originally involved with this property.
The ‘custom made’ dining table in the shade of a gazebo covered by inebriating jasmine – with exotic straw lamps – offers an unforgettable panoramic view of the Castle of S. Maria Novella.
The Park has been redesigned in detail and completed with a series of relaxation areas, for a sensorial immersion in the poetic landscape.
A low wall of local stone defines the refined solarium by the pool with a custom made XL size daybed covered with “Maison de Vacances” fabrics.
