Villa Bonazza
Val di Pesa
Tuscany

Greenery and vines are the surround this architectural work which blends with the Tuscan landscape, thus celebrating tradition and also projecting it into the future at the same time. The balance between the old and the contemporary is the basis of this architectural renovation, in which the hand appears impartial and balanced in adding, in removing and where possible, leaving untouched.
Restoring in Tuscan Chianti where the property is located, does not just mean respecting the historical and cultural context of the place. In this situation, tradition must be taken into account, that is increasingly combined with innovation and modernization in both the agricultural and architectural fields.
The project involved the fusion of three distinct areas, all interconnected by a fluid and recognizable distribution path: the large reception room, in which various modern decoration objects are located immediately visible upon entering, and equipped with a space intended for entertainment ; the everyday living room, a reversible environment that brings together all the daily functions, containing the kitchen, the dining room and a relaxation area.
The night area, further away and private on the first floor, composed of a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom, private lounge and panoramic terrace; the children’s bedroom, also equipped with a small private lounge, a further room for guests with ensuite bathroom.
The result is a collection of materials linked to this area of Tuscany inserted into forms and concepts of contemporary architecture but where a connection to history can be felt everywhere. Terracotta and wood are the materials that predominate, evoking the element of the earth, while the large windows instil a feeling of interpenetration between the gardens and the internal spaces.
